v5.3

TrustShop 5.3: Put Your Reviews on Any Site with Script Embed

Some merchants run Shopify for the back office and something else entirely for the storefront. Version 5.3 stops that being a dead end.

New

  • Script embed — a plain script snippet that renders TrustShop widgets on any site, not just a Shopify storefront. If your front end is Framer, WordPress or custom, your reviews can now live there.
  • Sync Now for Google Maps reviews — instead of waiting for the daily auto-sync, pull new Google reviews across immediately. Duplicates are skipped.

Improved

  • Add-to-cart from widgets now follows Shopify’s standard theme actions, so it behaves correctly across more themes.
  • Review thumbnails in the admin fit their card properly.
  • The verified badge preview in global settings now matches what actually renders on the storefront.

TrustShop 5.2: Product Management, and the Groundwork for UGC

New

  • Product management page — a real products table inside TrustShop, so you can see and manage review coverage product by product instead of hunting through settings.
  • Better product picker — filter by live product attributes when choosing which products a widget or campaign applies to, and sort by live Q&A count to find the products customers are actually asking about.
  • AI summary block with review labels — see what reviews are saying about a product at a glance.
  • Sync reviews now — pull reviews across immediately instead of waiting for the scheduled sync.
  • UGC groundwork — the first pieces of the UGC module landed here: Instagram connection, review-linked media sync, and the media pipeline behind it. The merchant-facing launch followed in 5.3.

Improved

  • Product detail now exposes the product URL, featured image, and a count of removable duplicate reviews.
  • Widget previews and attributes now match what actually renders on the storefront.
  • The review detail page is responsive, and the media list layout was tidied up.

Fixed

  • Bundle review inheritance now respects the merchant enable toggle.
  • Deleted products are filtered out of listings, and product bundle sync no longer breaks on an empty Shopify response.
  • Pricing display corrections.

v3.2

TrustShop 3.2: Let AI Help Customers Write Their Review

The hardest part of leaving a review is the empty text box. Version 3.2 removes it.

What changed

  • AI-generated review content — when a customer picks one of the suggested review titles, TrustShop drafts review text that matches their star rating, the title they chose, and the product itself. The customer can edit anything before submitting, and the draft comes back in the same language as the title. Available on the AI Power plan.
  • Collect Reviews reorganised — the collection settings were regrouped so request emails, QR codes and manual imports sit together.
  • Fixed — stores that had every campaign email marked as default now have exactly one default per trigger, so the right template gets sent.

TrustShop 2.9: Testimonial Widget and a Redesigned Dashboard

Version 2.9 focused on the two things merchants look at most: the widgets shoppers see, and the dashboard you land on every morning.

What changed

  • Testimonial widget — a new widget for showcasing hand-picked customer quotes, separate from the standard review list.
  • Star Rating widget rebuilt — cleaner markup and more consistent rendering across themes.
  • Redesigned dashboard — the main dashboard page was reorganised around the metrics merchants check first.
  • Discount code on storefront reviews — customers who write a review directly from your storefront now receive their discount code by email, the same way they do from an email request.
  • Carousel display options — show product information, customer country flag, and review date on carousel cards.
  • Updated to meet the February 2025 Built for Shopify requirements.
