WaSend 1.7: The Ads That Start Your Chats, and Automations That Know When to Send
Version 1.7 closes the loop between the ad a customer clicked and the order they place — and gives your automations a sense of timing.
New
- Click-to-WhatsApp ads, tracked end to end — connect your Meta ad account and WaSend links every incoming chat to the ad that started it. The conversation opens in the inbox with the ad creative, headline and campaign attached, so you reply knowing exactly what the customer just clicked. Access is read-only: WaSend can’t edit or spend on your campaigns.
- Ad performance without a spreadsheet — spend, clicks, leads and cost per lead for each ad, ad set and campaign, synced daily from Meta and matched against the conversations they actually produced. CPL stops being a number you assemble by hand from Ads Manager.
- Acquisition source on customers and orders — a customer who arrives through an ad keeps that source on their profile, and orders carry the ad that brought them. You can finally see which campaigns produce buyers, not just chats.
- Send-time window for automations — choose the hours an automation is allowed to send. A flow that fires at 2am holds the message until the window opens, so your store never wakes a customer up at night.
- Free-window timers on ad conversations — chats that start from an ad open a 24-hour customer service window, and replying inside it opens a 72-hour free entry point on top. WaSend tracks both clocks on the conversation so you know when a message is free and when only a template will go through.
Improved
- Contacts and customers are now separate records — a WhatsApp contact no longer has to be a Shopify customer. Every phone number is one contact per store, duplicates created by the same number are merged, and a chat from someone who has never ordered still gets a proper profile.
- You can see who replied, and who owns the chat — the inbox records which staff member sent each message and lets you assign a conversation to a teammate, so a shared inbox stops being anonymous.
- Shopify sync moved to Webhooks 2.0 — customer and order events (created, paid, fulfilled, cancelled) now arrive on Shopify’s current webhook stack, and WaSend no longer asks for write access to your products.
Fixed
- Uninstalling WaSend from Shopify now properly cuts off the inbox — an uninstalled store could still send messages.
